Ousa

Main Points Of This Class:

I. To direct damage away from other allies.
II. To provide a source of Enemy Damaging Healing Spells
III. Evasion Boosts

Brief Class Description:
Long Bladed warriors whom choose neither friend nor foe, but aid both.

**Status: Has 4 Energy Regain, Max Energy: 32, Starting Energy: 17

**Armor: Max 70. Consists of light fitting robe tops and long-pants as bottoms, arms covered in mysterious designs as well as feet. Headpiece consists of a mask that covers their face, leaving holes for them to see through, designs on them are Samurai based, meant to strike fear into their foes.

Weapon
Max Damage: 4-21
A very long, skinny bladed sword, allowing them to perform a ‘first strike’ from far away. Sword comparison: --|=====> Warrior’s Sword -|---------------- Ousa’s Sword.

**“First Strike”: A First strike is simply the first Physical Attack or Attack Skill that you inflict upon a foe. This effects their skills greatly.

Attributes

Blade Mastery – Effects Damage dealt by Blade Mastery skills.
Hidden Strikes – Effects Damage dealt by Hidden Strikes skills.
Hidden Blessings – Effects Health/Damage gained/dealt by Hidden Blessing skills.
*Primary: Core Strength – For every 2 levels in this attribute you have +2% to critical a ‘first strike’ and for every 3 levels in this attribute you gain +20 health for every ‘first strike’.

Skill Examples

I. Blade Mastery

Foreign Strike – 5 Energy, 8sec Recharge. Blade Attack. Randomly strike a foe, this skill has a 2...15% to Critical if it is a ‘First Strike’.

Hindering Blow – 10 Energy, 12sec Recharge. Blade Attack. If this attack hits, you deal +1…5 damage. If this attack is a ‘first strike’, the foe suffers from bleeding for 10 seconds and you gain 1...7 energy.

Uproar Slash – 5 Energy, 4sec Recharge. Blade Attack. If this attack is a ‘first strike’, foe is knocked down for 1…2 seconds and suffers 20…36 damage. Otherwise you deal +1…4 damage and this attack can be easily evaded.

Aimed Strike – 5 Energy, 2sec Casting, 6sec Recharge. Blade Attack. This attack must be a first strike. You deal +15…34 damage. This attack can easily be interrupted.

II. Hidden Strikes

Blinding Breath – 5 Energy, 2sec Casting, 4sec Recharge. Spell. Send out a wave of powder, if this spell hits an attacking foe, that foe is blinded for 3….7 seconds.

Unseen Strike – 10 Energy, 6sec Recharge. Physical Attack. If this attack hits a blinded foe, you deal +2…15 damage and transfer their remaining blindness duration to you.

Swift Slash – 5 Energy. Physical Attack. This attack moves twice as fast and deals +1…19 damage. If this attack misses, the skill is disabled for 20 seconds. This attack has twice the chance to miss.

’Break Their Legs’ – 5 Energy, 3sec Casting, 20sec Recharge. Skill. For 2…7 seconds, your Physical attacks cause crippling for 4 seconds.

III.Hidden Blessings

Mirror Health – 5 Energy, 30sec Recharge. Spell. Target ally is healed for 100…420% of your current Energy.

Exchange Life – 10 Energy, 3sec Casting, 15sec Recharge. Spell. Damage targeted foe for 5…10 damage. For each point of health lost, allies within the area are healed for 10 health.

’Heal Me!’ – -1 Energy Gain, 5sec Casting, 45sec Recharge. Enchantment. While maintaining this enchantment all damage dealt to target ally is exchanged into health. This enchantment ends once target ally suffers 150+ damage, and you lose 2 points of health for each point of health gained in this way.

*Elite: Mortal Bond – 15 Energy, 3sec Casting, 40sec Recharge. Elite Spell. For 10…20 seconds, for each foe killed: you are healed for 10…100 Health, gain 2…5 energy, suffer from Deep Wound for 20…15 seconds and this skill is disabled for an extra 25…15 seconds.

Pay For Protection – 10 Energy, 25sec Recharge. Enchantment. For the next 10 seconds, target ally has a 75% chance to avoid projectiles. For each projectile missed this way, you suffer 15 damage.

IV.Core Strength

Speedy Fingers – 10 Energy, 1sec Casting, 15sec Recharge. Skill. For 10 seconds you attack 25% faster but have a 50% of being knocked down by physical attack.

Lucky Vision – 10 Energy, 2sec Casting, 40sec Recharge. Skill. For 60 seconds you have +10…25% chance to critical on a ‘First Strike’.

*Elite: Forget Me Not – 15 Energy, 5sec Casting, 60sec Recharge. Elite Skill. For 10…15 seconds damage you receive is reduced by 75%. If your health drops below 50%, you are knocked down for more than one second, lose 150…60 health, and this enchantment ends. Otherwise this enchantment ends normally and causes you no harm.

Interesting primary, its like Assassin's but not quite. How is it linked to function I? How do you prevent this class from becoming a damage class, simply by attacking/autohealing? Wouldnt autohealing be open to abuse?

If its intention is to protect, why does the primary synch more with the secondary function, damage through healing.

Some of the skills are very interesting, i like Unseen Strike...its like an evil version of Martyr and reminds me of skills like Crystal Wave.

I think....you should focus on Damage through Healing, as the link to the primary because this is a much more interesting idea, but tighten the link more.

How about

*Primary: Core Strength – For every 2 levels in this attribute you have +2% to critical a ‘first strike’ and for every 3 levels, you gain +1 energy per condition that you transfer to yourself.

Well the primary is indead quite assasin like, but grans healing instead of energy.

Also what exactly is a first strike, simply a melee attack at increased range or a one shot effect when you hit a foe before that fe hits you?
Or is it a repeateabel effect that triggers whenever you attack a new target?

For swifth slash, I was not aware melee attacks moved in a curve? If you want a attack to happen faster just add a 1/2 or less cast time to them.

Mirror health however looks really interesting, don't really care on what class it goes but I want it ingame.

Even though the primary has the word strenght in it it uses a sword I do not get a this is a warrior clone feeling, wonder why not...
Blade mastery and Hidden strikes, function like dagger amstery and deadly arts, even though the skills in them look more usefull than the skills in deadly arts do the hidden/sneaky attacks thing has already been done(even though it needs a revision badly) for the same reason a paragon has protecive shouts all over his atributes(the ritualist already had a protection support attribute:communing) the skills you have in hidden attacks need to be placed differently because there is already a attribute with the same function.

I'm 2 minded about the idea, I can't bringmyself to say its a clone of this or that, but I can't say its truly original either.
You'll get the benefit of doubt and I'll say its not a bad Idea, needs bit of work but is not far away from being a good class.

Hm, indeed the class does seem very Assassin/Warrior like. Hm I'll do my best to tweak some of the skills around.

Ah and this has been asked by a few others, that I've shown this idea to, as well: A First strike is like you may have thought, it is simply the first Physical attack or Attack skill that you inflict on a new foe. Though that may take some programming I suppose it could work out like this:

When attacking two foes, you could 'first strike' one of them, and then 'first strike' the other. Thus changing the status of the first foe you struck allowing you to 'first strike' them again? Hm I don't know how that would completely work out but it could use some work.

I thank you both for your comments and I'll try to tweak this out some and give it that Originality factor that you mentioned System_Crush. Also I'll try to find a way to make them work more towards the first Main Point, I realize now that I did leave that factor out. Sorry about that
